A PASSION FOR ORCHIDS

Orchids take my breath away. Spidery varieties, big waxy blooms, delicate fluffy romantic kinds, and with colors ranging from soft pastels to screaming magentas to vibrant greens and golds, they are the strongest most hardy flower that can be used in many ways. At My Secret Garden we are so lucky to live in a city with so much diversity embracing all trends  modern, classic, wild organic, vintage. We listen to our brides and help them capture their vision making each wedding day beautiful, unforgettable, and most importantly, unique.

When I walk in the bridal suite with the bouquets and there is an eruption of tears, gasps and hollers we know we have exceeded their dreams. It is the most amazing feeling, and an honor, to be included in their day. The bouquets are the most vital part of any wedding, setting the tone and ending up in so many photos...we want them to be perfect! Luckily we get a chance to experiment with many styles - here's a few...

   

 

VINTAGE - CLASSIC - ELEGANCE

At My Secret Garden, we love the style of floral design reminiscent of 16th century still life paintings known as Flemish. It is overflowing with various flowers found in every garden, adding organic elements of texture and asymmetrical form. We always strive to respect the way the flower bends instead of manipulating it, we like to let it flow as naturally as it would appear in the garden. Choosing the proper container for this style is as important as the flower selection. We use vases and other unique vessels from our private collection found at flea markets, estate sales and yes I must confess, Ebay, too. We would love to do a video tutorial, explaining why we choose distinct vases and for what reasons...let us know if this is something you would enjoy!
